Uganda is special because it has lots of different animals in a small area. In the southwest, there are gorillas and chimpanzees. Also, there are three safari parks where you can see animals like elephants, giraffes, lions, and more.

In the southwest part of Uganda, there are three safari parks: Queen Elizabeth National Park, Lake Mburo National Park, and Semliki Valley.

These parks are often visited together with gorilla trekking in Bwindi or Mgahinga and/or chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest. You can reach them with just a few hours' drive, which makes them very popular choices. Outside of the southwest, there are two more safari parks: Murchison Falls National Park and Kidepo Valley National Park.

Kidepo is in the far north of the country and is usually included in longer trips. Murchison Falls is considered one of the top safari destinations in Uganda and is often combined with the parks in the southwest.

Great match- great team- great experience The perfect match for our 15 days in Uganda, focused on birds and wildlife.Well organized, great accommodations, the nicest team to spend time with. All well planned, safe and backed up. Even with a lot of moving around and various local tours and treks, everything was perfectly executed. Great destinations and wildlife experiences.

A home away from home in Uganda I have once again found myself in Uganda – this time with more family. It’s my third visit, and every time it’s worth coming back. What makes it even more special now is having good friends here who welcome you back and make you feel at home. This time I traveled with my mom, sister, and boyfriend.Scroll through my pictures here to get a glimpse of my travel. I have written where most pictures are taken, so you have that information, if you would like to go there. You will see that we mainly stayed in and around Fort Portal - a good place to stay!A big thank you to you Johnson for making our stay so interesting, beautiful, and welcoming. He picked us up at the airport and drove us to Fort Portal, where we stayed at Green Village Apartments – a very affordable and comfortable place. Both Johnson and Violet know so much about the area and about Uganda in general, so don’t hesitate to ask them about day trips. They’ll take you to the most beautiful and fascinating places.I’ve written a review before, but this time I want to recommend something beyond safaris and nature – because Africa is much more than that. This trip I focused on people, food, culture, history, and stories. You could say: getting to know Africa through the locals’ voices and eyes. If you’re interested in culture and society when you travel, Uganda is the place. Experiencing local life here not only teaches you about history, society, and culture in Africa, but also gives you a deeper understanding of yourself and where you come from. That’s one of the most beautiful lessons travel can give. The Ugandan people are incredibly welcoming and friendly. Since English is widely spoken, it’s easy to have fun and meaningful conversations. People’s genuine happiness to see you is wonderful, and the positive energy makes every encounter a joy.Of course, we also went on the classic safari – this time to Queen Elizabeth National Park. We stayed at the beautiful Pumba Safari Lodge, which is very affordable and highly recommended. Definitely ask Violet or Johnson to include it in your travel plans. We also returned to Lake Bunyonyi, where swimming is possible – something we Danes love! We stayed at Overland Resort, a calm and relaxing place. Bring a good book, watch the sunset, play cards, and enjoy good conversations at night over a gin & tonic – simply lovely.Once again, thank you Johnson for being the best driver and friend, and thank you Violet for running such a reliable tour company. I would always recommend you both!

An unforgettable journey through Uganda with Afrika Panthera Safaris We had an incredible 2.5-week adventure in Uganda with Afrika Panthera Safaris, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. From the beginning, we had ongoing communication with Violet, who listened closely to our wishes and tailored the trip perfectly to match them. Highlights included white-water rafting on the Nile and several cultural experiences - especially a truly amazing community stay at Rubalika. The accommodations were wonderfully balanced, with a thoughtful mix of lodges, luxury tents, and a beautiful hotel - all aligned with what we had described to Violet beforehand. Our guide Robert was fantastic - knowledgeable about Uganda's wildlife, plants, birds, and culture, and he brought a great sense of humor to every moment we shared. Thanks to him, we learned so much while having fun.Uganda is a breathtaking country with such a wonderful and welcoming people and our journey was filled with unforgettable memories. We loved every moment and wholeheartedly recommend Afrika Panthera Safaris!

Violet and Johnson were absolutely the best. I was blessed to go to Uganda on a 14- day mission/safari. All the arrangements were first class - great hotels, meals and transportation. We saw the Kings Palace, the equator (two different areas), Independence Monument, Lake Mburo and Queen Elizabeth National Parks and did a cruise on the Nile River. Violet surprised me with a delicious birthday cake on the Nile River Cruise! I certainly didn't expect that level of service but it was one of the many highlights of the trip! The game drives and nature walk were awe inspiring. To be able to see animals in their native environment was simply amazing. And to be able to walk with the giraffes was not something I ever expected.I highly recommend Afrika Panthera. This trip was more than I could have ever imagined.

Sacred Heart Mission Trip Violet Komuhendo was our tour guide and leader on our first journey to Afrika. Johnson was her co-pilot per se. They were excellent with all the arrangements for 20 people. The five hotels were beautiful and first class. Our experience of dining offered both international and local food. Violet and Johnson made sure we were well taken care of. We had help with the exchange of US money to the Uganda shillings to getting us to activities with the best bus drivers and safari guides. We felt safe the whole trip. Violet and Johnson are pleasant and professional hosts, answering all our questions and taking care of all our needs. We have left Afrika having made new friends. The safaris were incredible. The guides knew where the animals were. We toured in safari vans with tops popping up for beautiful pictures. We had one nature walk that was breathtaking. Walking with giraffes and zebras was unbelievable!

The absolute BEST company for trips to Uganda! The owner, Violet, and her main assistant, Johnson, made the trip for us! Twenty people were on our 2 week mission trip and we were treated like celebrities from the time they picked us up from the Entebbe Airport until dropping us off. Every single request we had was fully and professionally accommodated way beyond our expectations. Violet and her employees became like family from day one. They chose great hotels and activities. Every one of them was incredibly knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. They took us on four safaris, to national sites, the Source of the Nile, to an orphanage, seminary and Martyr's Day. They made this a trip of a lifetime for our entire group!!

We were on a 20 person, 2 week mission trip with our church. The staff was professional, helpful and extremely knowledgeable of the country and safari animals. Afrika Panthera took care of our group of 20 people for 14 days. They picked us up from the airport and never left our side until they dropped us off at the airport for our return home to the states. They followed our itinerary and adjusted seamlessly when our itinerary changed. I give Afrika Panthera 1,000 stars. A great team!

Ugandan Safari We used Afrika Panthers for the non-mission parts of our mission trip! We were a group of 20 and they made every aspect of our trip go as smoothly as possible! They met us at the airport and transported us to our hotel in Kampala for some much needed rest. They then coordinated our activities in Kampala including attending the Ugandan Martyrs Celebration at the National Shrine. They then met up with us after we completed our mission work taking us on a short safari and then to the source of the Nile River. They were flexible and patient with our large group and went out of their way to see that all of our needs were met and any issues were handled. I highly recommend Afrika Panthera for all of your travel needs in Africa!
