Itinerary

8 Days Uganda-Tanzania Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Airport pick-up and Transfer to the hotel in Entebbe

On your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met and welcomed by our representative. He will be your tour and driver guide for the rest of the days you will be in the country. After the interaction and brief introduction, you will be transferred to your preferred Hotel in Entebbe for an Overnight stay.

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and cultural experience of the Batwa indigenous people.

After an early breakfast, transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via a scheduled domestic flight from Entebbe to Kihihi or Kisoro Airstrip. It usually takes 1.5 hours and an extra 1 hour drive to your hotel. Reach in time for lunch and after check-in, enjoy the afternoon with cultural engagements, including the Batwa community trail, where you will learn about the daily life habits of the indigenous people of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is widely regarded as one of the most profound wildlife encounters on Earth, as the park is home to nearly half of the world's critically endangered Mountain Gorillas. This physically demanding but immensely rewarding adventure involves hiking through the dense, misty rainforest—which can take anywhere from a quick hour to an arduous day—led by expert trackers who guide you to one of the habituated gorilla families. Upon finding the group, trekkers are granted one hour to sit in silent observation of the magnificent silverbacks, mothers, and playful juveniles in their natural habitat, offering an unparalleled moment of connection that funds the crucial conservation efforts protecting this species.

Day 4: Transfer to Tanzania

After an early breakfast, transfer from Bwindi to Entebbe via a domestic flight and be in time for your late afternoon flight to Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, where your adventure continues.

Day 5: Transfer to Serengeti National Park

Start your day with an early breakfast and then embark on a long scenic drive of about 5 to 6 hours north. Travel through rural Masai villages and Ngorongoro Conservation Area, skirting the mighty volcanic Ngorongoro Crater and into the famous Serengeti Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Serengeti, together with the Maasai Mara of Kenya, form Africa’s most famous wildlife park. The image of Acacia trees on endless savannah plains epitomizes Africa for many. Then add a Maasai warrior and some cattle to the picture, and the conversation needs to go no further – this is Africa! You’ll enjoy a packed lunch and game viewing en route. You’ll reach your camp/lodge in the central Serengeti in the afternoon and spend two memorable nights here. The picture-perfect landscape of central Serengeti is characterized by endless stretches of savannah-covered open plains, interspersed by rocky outcrops of granite, scattered with acacia woodlands, and covered in a network of streams and rivers.

Day 6: Game drive in Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park, known as the "endless plains" in Maasai, is the ultimate African safari experience, offering vast, open landscapes and extraordinary wildlife viewing. Driving in specialized 4x4 safari vehicles, you traverse the park's diverse habitats—from the central Seronera Valley, famous for big cats like lions, leopards, and cheetahs, to the rocky outcrops (kopjes) where predators often perch. The Serengeti is perhaps most famous as the stage for the Great Wildebeest Migration, where over a million wildebeest and zebra move in a continuous, annual cycle, providing a dramatic spectacle, including the thrilling river crossings (seasonal). Whether on an early morning drive catching the golden light and nocturnal hunters, or a full day exploring the vastness, you are virtually guaranteed to witness a stunning variety of wildlife and unforgettable predator-prey action.

Day 7: Transfer to Ngorongoro Crater

After a relaxing breakfast, you enjoy one last game drive in Serengeti, as you transfer to Ngorongoro Conservation Area – another World Heritage Site. En route, you’ll visit the Olduvai Gorge Museum – located near the site where archaeologists Louis and Mary Leakey discovered the remains of Homo habilis, one of the earliest members of the human kind in the 1960s. After exploring the area, you’ll have your lunch and continue to Ngorongoro. On the way, you’ll learn some cool facts about this incredible natural geological wonderland. You will descend the crater and have an extensive game drive inside, enjoying a picnic lunch on the 260 km2 crater floor.

Day 8: Transfer to Arusha for your Departure home

Your guide/driver will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your journey back home.
