Gorilla tracking is done only in two National Parks in Uganda, namely Bwindi Impenetrable Nationall Park and Mgahinga National Park all located in South Western Part of Uganda.
In Bwindi, Gorilla tracking can be done in Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga, and Nkuringo with a total of about 18 Gorilla families.
Gorilla Tracking permits have to be bought prior to tracking by booking directly with the reservations office at Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) Headquarters or Afrika Panthera Safaris.
Agroup of 8 people is allowed to view the gorillas for one hour per day and participants must be 15 years of age or above and they are always accompanied by UWA guides while tracking Gorillas.
Gorilla tracking activity can take about 3- 5 hours depending on the group your tracking and a permit cost 600 USD but its yet to Increase to 700 USD in June 2020.
