9 DAYS 8 NIGHTS KIDEPO VALLEY NATIONAL PARK

Day 1: Airport – Kampala

You will be picked from Entebbe Airport to Kampala for Diner and overnight.

 Day 2: Kampala - Masindi

We set off from Kampala to the Mid-west Uganda to Ziwa rhino sanctuary where we have a stopover for lunch , settle in the accommodation and have a cool off at the pool. Later in the afternoon we go for Rhino trekking. This gives you a great chance to see these magnificent beasts on foot in a controlled natural environment where Rhinos are free to roam within the huge sanctuary guarded 24/7. Dinner will be provided in your lodge as you take your rest for the next day.

 Day 3: Murchision NP – Top of the falls

After breakfast we set off to the Murchison falls national park through the ancient Budongo Forest before crossing the savanna and woodland of Murchision Falls NP. We will have a stopover at the ‘’ Top of the Falls’’ as u enjoy your packed lunch and as you feel the mighty Nile shakes Beneath your feet as it rushes, tumbles and froths its way through a 7m Gap in the escarpment and probably have a nature bath from the rising waters at the huge falls and probably a have a glance at the beautiful rain ball formed normally down at the falls. After this experience we drive back to your accommodation through a wooded honeymoon game drive.

 Day 4: Murchision – Delta Area

After an early breakfast, we cross over to the delta area for your morning game drive which will give you possible encounter of Lions, Leopards, Elephants, Giraffes, leopards and Hyena. We return to your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon we set off for cruise to the foot of the falls on the Wild Frontier launch. This takes about 1hour and a Half to reach the falls and on the way you will spot Hippos, crocodiles and a wide variety of spectacular water birds and could possible see Buffalos, warthog, Elephants, and various Antelopes. At the foot falls you will moor briefly to the large rock to wonder at the power of the mighty river before drifting back into the late afternoon sun.

 Day 5: Murchision – Kidepo Valley

One last glance at the same wildlife as we head out of the North – Eastern corner of the park en route to the bustling capita of Gulu with lunch en route. After lunch we take the road north to Kitgum and conditions dictate our progress but we expect to take a round 2-3 hours through the rural north before a quick break into Kitgum and then head North East to Kidepo.  This is a stunning drive as we head into an increasingly mountainous terrain before finally bursting through the mountain pass with the Beautiful Kidepo Valley National Park laid out before us. We arrive at your lodge in the early evening and then take the opportunity to stretch your legs and climb the Amapuis Rock viewpoint of a sundowner.

 Day 6:  Kidepo valley NP game drive

Wake up to the watch of a beautiful Sunrise over the Morongole Mountains while enjoying your breakfast. Then begin our game drive with a visit to the Narus Valley in search of Lions, Elephants, Giraffe, leopards, Zebras, Eland and marvel at the huge herd of Buffalos grazing in the wetland. After lunch at the lodge, you will head towards the seasonal Kidepo River in search of cheetah and ostrich. You can take a cooling drink among the Barassas palms at the Kidepo River and the return to you lodge in the mid-evening.

 Day 7: Kidepo - Kampala

At sunrise again, having our breakfast, we set for our long journey a head. Depending on the road and weather conditions, our route will either take us through the eastern sections of Kidepo and south through stunning karamoja landscape via Moroto, or back via Kitgum and Soroti. Our target is to visit the vast reserve of Pian-Upe on the southern Karamoja plains and to have one final opportunity to see the ostrich, cheetah and hyena. However the road conditions are quite frequently very poor here for we can’t guarantee that we can reach there.

 Day 8: And 9

You will have the opportunity for a short game drive in this seldom visited, but very pleasant reserve before continuing your journey to Entebbe or Kampala in the evening and will be dropped at the hotel in Entebbe for Dinner and over night. We drop you off at the Airport to catch your flight back home the next day.
