Afrika Panthera safaris is registered and licenced by Uganda tourism board as a local tours and travel company based in Fort Portal the tourism city in the western part of Uganda. The agency is compraised of a team of passionate 70% young female professionals (tour guides) with vast knowledge and experience about the tourism industry.
We aim at meeting our clients expectations by facilitating unique, memorable experiences with excellent customer care service as we explore Ugandas diversity with you while conserving the environment during the tour.
THE FOUNDER.
I have been passionate about tourism from the time i was in my seconadry school level. It was during my 1st school trip at Queen Elizabeth national park one of the most visited park in the country that i discovered how beautiful Uganda was and i remember asking a ranger if there was another part in uganda that had similar beauty and a variety of wildlife? Her response was " Much more than your eyes can take".
After exploring every corner of the Pearl of Africa from far north Kidepo valley national park to far south Mgahinga national park, in 2019 i decided to register Afrika Panthera Safari so as to offer the best memorable expriences to both local and international tourists and also to provide employment to many youth and women within the tourism value chain in my community as we expose to tourists what Uganda has to offer ranging from Gorillas, Chimpanzees, diverseculture, wildlife, breathtaking scenaries,Tropical rain forests, savanaparks, variety of birdspecies, waterfalls, mountains, hotsprings, crater lakes, friendly people, food and more biodiveristy.
When i graduated from the Academy for women enterpenures program, i realised how great it is to work with fellow women as we hold each others hand to fight against the gender baised mind set in the tourism industry. I decided that 70% of our tours will be handled by female guides through mentorship and giving a platform to female tour guides to facilitate unique memorable experiences as a way of provinding employment, promoting professionalism and gender equality and inclusiveness in a male dominated industry.
SUSTAINABLE AND RESPONSIBLE TOURISM.
We promote sustainable/resposible tourism by discouraging plastic litering, plant a memorable tree,engage directly in different communty activites like basket waving with women,garden to plate experience,home stays,traditional dance,Empaako nameing ceremony,traditional marriage ceremonies,local brewing experiences,local coffee garden to cup experience,community walks,traditional healer, eco organic farms experiences and much more. By getting involved in the above experiences for an hour, full day or overnight, you are directly, employing a female guide, conserving & preserving the environment and supporting a community to have a better life.
